About Abraham Arzola
Neuroscience Tutor
In undergrad, I received the prestigious MARC research scholarship and conducted groundbreaking neuroscience research on the genetic and non-genetic factors contributing to Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Additionally, I conducted research at the National Institute of Mental Health on developing genetic tools for identifying specific neural substrates contributing to behavior. I am an active member of the Society for Neuroscience and have presented numerous posters at their annual conferences. I have also shared my research findings at the National Institutes of Health Symposium with a large number of researchers with diverse backgrounds in science and medicine.
I have published research and founded my own academic journal in which I work continuously to eliminate the widely spread replication crisis that plagues the field of academic research. I love tutoring because it allows me to not only share my expertise and knowledge in a comprehensive way but also show students how to learn so that their learning experience can reward them well beyond a single session.
I received a BS in biology (Biomedical concentration) with a minor in psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso with a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, my active work in a neuroscience lab allows me to not only conceptually grasp complex topics within the sciences but also apply them to real-life experiments. I have tutored over 2000 students in science subjects with websites like the Princeton Review, Tutor.com, Varsity Tutors, and Wyzant. I not only teach science but utilize scientifically supported methods to help students better learn and remember new concepts. If you are still on the fence about scheduling an online tutoring session with me, be sure to get reach out to see if I would be a good fit for you!
